Six Days Itinerary


Day 1

Breakfast and morning departure to the Gurdwara Singh Singhnian which marks the location of massacres committed by Mir Mannu on Sikhs in the mid eighteenth century. You will then be guided on a tour of the walled city of Lahore, explaining the significance of Delhi gate and its environs in Sikh history. After visiting the scenic Wazir Khan mosque (named after Shah Jehan’s physician), you will visit Guru Ramdas’s birthplace where you will also witness Bhai Mardana’s descendants perform Kirtan. Following Kirtan, you will visit Gurdwara Dera Sahib which represents the martyrdom site of Guru Arjun Dev jI. 

Following a four hour rest at the hotel, you will be treated to a private Kathak performance inside Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s living quarters in the Lahore Fort. This will be followed by dinner overlooking the scenic Badshahi Mosque.

Day 2

Breakfast and departure towards Nankana Sahib.The first stop will be at the famed Hiran Minar Gurdwara where young artists from the region perform an outdoor theater performance on the Punjabi epic of Heer-Ranjha. After this you will visit the Sacha Sauda where Guru Nanak laid the foundations of the Langar tradition in Sikhism. Following Langar at the Gurdwara, you will proceed towards the town of Nankana Sahib. Visiting several Gurdwaras associated with early events from Guru Nanak’s life including Gurdwara Kiara Sahib, Mal Ji Sahib and Patti Sahib in the afternoon. You will then spend two hours at Gurdwara Janam Asthan at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak. You will depart for Islamabad in the late afternoon and check in to the Rawalpindi PC Hotel by 8 pm. 

Day 3

After breakfast at the Rawalpindi PC Hotel, you will head Northwest from Islamabad to visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib. After spending two hours at the Gurdwara you will visit the Hasan Abdal Railway Station and the Dharmarajika Stupa at Taxila where you will be treated to a Rabab performance. Returning to Islamabad in the afternoon, two hours planned at the Centaurus Shopping Mall followed by a Ghazal performance and dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast and checking out from the Rawalpindi PC hotel. Heading back towards Lahore.

Checking into the Lahore PC again and resting for two hours at the hotel. You will then be treated to an evening of Punjabi cuisine, art and music at a heritage retreat on the outskirts of Lahore. 

Day 5

Breakfast and visiting the historic town of Eminabad (formerly known as Saidpur) on the outskirts of Gujranwala. Gurdwara Rori Sahib in Eminabad marks the site where Guru Nanak was apprehended by Mughal forces at the time of Babur’s invasion. Gurdwara Khoi Bhai Lalo marks the location of the humble home of Bhai Lalo where Guru Nanak stayed while in Saidpur. Visiting Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s birthplace in Gujranwala city and returning to Lahore in the afternoon.

After two hours of rest you will be treated to a theater performance on Punjabi culture and heritage in Lahore. 

Day 6

Day trip to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib north of Lahore. At the Gurdwara you will see the original well used by Guru Nanak, the fields irrigated by him and the main Gurdwara. Returning to Lahore in the evening for shopping and a farewell dinner.
